The White Room at The White Gallery…..

The White Room were on the Road again recently, attending the Annual Designer Bridal show –  “The White Gallery”.  We spent a fantastic couple of days indulging in the fabulous new 2012 collections of Stewart Parvin, Stephanie Allen, Ritva Westenius, Jesus Peiro and many more.

The Catwalk shows were alive with Silk Organza, Lace and Georgette with a soft romantic feel, interchangeable trains and bolero’s and a real 60 & 70’s twist!   With beautiful Accessories, such as belts, soft pastel flowers and detachable skirts, it was fabulous to see such a wealth of unique and individual gowns.

In the year when wedding dresses entered the national consciousness more that ever before, Stewart Parvin has produced a sublime collection of bridal looks: in turn chic, romantic, elegant and above all modern.  Never losing its signature elegance, Parvin’s collection for 2012 is dedicated to the woman who wishes to be totally up to the minute while feeling incredibly special on her wedding day.

While traditional bridal shapes such as column, fishtail and A-line are given a twist, ivory is the predominant colour for 2012 and important fabrics include guipure and ribbon lace, georgette, tulle and beaded couture on full skirts. Embellishments include exquisite corsages in rose pink and dark chocolate brown, emerald silk ribbon trimming while crystals adorn bodices and necklines.  Looks are also accessorised with quirky oversized jewellery in unexpected colours and styles – a necklace of chunky beads in turquoise, an ornate gold and crystal cuff.

Daring to be different, Ritva Westenius focused on a timeless elegant style that is about exquisite fabrics and beautiful cut. Her current collection is a breathtaking mix of ethereal fabrics, and her world-class talent for designing perfectly fitting, flattering gowns.

With such wonderful collections, 2012 is set to be an exciting year!
